Doctor Who star David Tennant to play a detective in new drama
The Scots actor, who quit as the Time Lord in 2009, has signed up to portray a maverick sleuth in a major ITV1 detective drama inspired by cult Danish crime series The Killing.
Made by the company [Kudos Film and Television] behind Spooks and Hustle, the yet-to-be-named gritty new series sees David’s character solve crimes his colleagues cannot crack.
“This is not just another detective show with a quirky sleuth. There is more to it. It will be in the same vein as The Killing in that it will be suspenseful — just when you think you know what’s going on, David’s character will turn the whole thing on its head.
“It’s a challenging role but one he is relishing.”
With an expected budget of £1million, the show goes into production later this year and will air in January next year. - thesun.co.uk

I just gotten more awesome, didn’t I? :) My brother just proved to be the best brother ever - for the past months he was working on making me meet David :) Tennant is now in Poland for The Spies of Warsaw shooting and since my brother is a movie director, he had some friends working on that set that were owing him favor… Since few weeks he was like ‘Lou, you’ll remember 31th May for your life blah blah’ - that was scary but turned out to be true.
Now I’ve got my Tardis and 10th Doctor poster signed with a dedication and I’m happy :) David Tennant turned out to be an awesome guy, he shook out hands, talked to us, signed stuff, he was really surpried that somebody in Poland actually watches Doctor Who and his other works :P If you’re a part of DW fandom, I wish you’ll be able (or you already did!) to meet him cause that’s a great expirence :)

Yeah. I met David Tennant today.
Don’t mind my dumb facial expression, I know I made a really stupid face, but guuuuuyyyys, I WAS STANDING NEXT TO DAVID TENNANT, WITH HIS HAND ON MY SHOULDER, TALKING TO HIM.
“The spief of Warsaw” is being filmed right next to my old school today. I wouldn’t have known if my friends hadn’t found out accidentally, when she was going home after class today. Me and my two friends were the only ones and we arrived right when their dinner break started, so we spent an hour on sitting there and fangirled silently XD But then he came out of his caravan and walked by and my friend, Aga, rushed toward him and asked if he can give us autographs, and he was all “yeah, sure, no problem!” I was really nervous, cause, you know, I was sure we’re going to annoy the hell out of him, but no! He’s the nicest person I’ve met, he said it’s a pleasure to meet us and chatted with us for a short while, said that he likes Kraków and that it’s great to meet us, and then we took photos with him and he had to go, cause they wanted to start filming, and he thanked us for coming and said “see you later, girls!” and then he basically run off to the director or whoever that guy was and we were just standing there smiling like idiots with jis autographs in hands and just… oh my Goood! I don’t know what to do with myself, hahahha. I don’t think I’m gonna sleep tonight at all.
Dear lord, I’ve met Daivd Tennant… I talked to him… Woah, just… I’ve never thought this day is going to come, like, EVER. I;m sorry for this rant, but I’m still so excited, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <3 My poor poor fangirl heart can’t take this anymore
